The Mayan Queen berthed at Wynyard Quarter, Auckland, New Zealand is the largest of many super yachts here at the moment for the Rugby World cup.
Owned by the Mexican billionaire Alberto Bailleres she was built in 2007 by Blohm Voss in Hamburg, Germany with a length of 93 mtrs and gross tonnage of 4200gt. She is the second super yacht to carry this name and has a crew of 24 which is about the average number for the cargo ships I served on.

Fantastic capture, great angle Roy. Interesting reading too.
Have to goggle Alberto to see how he made his billions….so his wealth comes from mining etc. Guess he might as well spend some of it and enjoy retirement, lol,

I bet you didn’t have maids, chefs and masseuses on the freighters. Great capture Roy almost an abstract feel about it.

  • Thank you for your comment Colin – that was just the image I was trying to portay ! I’m glad I almost got it right…..lol ! You should have seen some of the other ’ gin palaces ’ down there, the money was tangible but none rubbed off on me sadly !
