The Tui, also known as the Parson Bird due to the white ruff at his throat. A beautiful songbird – but yesterday when I took this photo he was telling me to ’ clear off !’ and as I have been chasing him for two years with my camera I wasn’t going anywhere until I had a satisfactory photo.
Taken from the balcony outside the bedroom window of our house at Paihia, Bay of Islands, New Zealand. The season’s have gone all haywire – we are mid winter and the Taiwanese Cherry trees are flowering already. They love the nectar from the blossoms.
