Not sure what type of tree this is – it’s not a Japanese Maple. I have asked around the shops in the area and none of them can help. – * IT SEEMS TO BE A FLAME TREE *.

Before I read your intro I would have said Japanese Maple for sure. Is that the same as Acer? We have identical trees in our local National Park and I’ll look out a photo and send it across.
It’s a great shot – and how much do they charge to swim with the dolphins?
    Regards
    Peter

  • Thank you for replying Peter – thank you for your comments. The cost last year of swimming with the dolphins was $120 but it has probably gone up now. That is for one person !! They are out for half a day and I believe the swim is great. Have never heard any complaints.

OK Roy, this one is a Flame Tree I’m told. The trunk looks to be slightly different from yours but otherwise it is almost identical.

  • I think you are right Peter, our tree trunk is in the shade and has been pruned differently but I am confident they are the same species. The ones here called flame trees are from Africa and have large red flowers a bit like poinsettias.

Not sure what type of tree it is Roy, but is sure is a beautiful capture, the leaves are stunning

  • Looks like it has turned out to be a flame tree Andrea. Thank you for your kind comments. I think the colour is from flowers, not leaves like the maple.
