Light after the storm ! New Zealand by

This is our back yard at Paihia in the Bay of Islands, Well a quarter of an acre is ! The rest is the Opua State Forest.
I never tire of this view, it is constantly changing.

The tree is a Rewarewa (Honeysuckle).

WHAT a scene! Wouldn’t mind having that particular Massicks Viewpoint whilst chugging my morning cuppa. What kind of tree is that in the foreground? You’re always in good hands with Jamie – when I was a novice RB-er, he gave me the same advice re the reply button…. And it goes on from there.

  • Apologies if I have doubled on this – thought I’d clicked but maybe I clacked instead ! The tree is a Rewarewa, a NZ native.Great for clogging the gutters. The tree just peeking on the right is a Totara. This is one of NZ’s largest trees used by the early settlers for fence posts.

Waking up to a rainbow every morning wouldn’t be bad! What a wonderful vista to be inspired by every day, Roy!

  • Pat, not every day but enough to hold your interest.

Wow!!!! What a heavenly place to live!!! Did not know NZ looks like this!!! Beautiful capture in every way!!

  • Thanks Deborah – and this is only my back yard ! if you haven’t seen ‘The Lord of the Ring films you should as that’s New Zealand.
It is very diverse in scenery with snow in the South Island and warm semi – tropical in the Far-North were we live.
