Tui - A native of New Zealand

Roy Massicks

Bay of Islands., New Zealand

Artist's Description

Taken from our lounge window in the spring with
the Taiwanese cherry in the background. This bird
is also called the Parson bird due to it’s white neck
ruff. They have a beautiful song which is easily
recognisable. Very territorial in the nesting season
and will see most other species off ! Will actually
kill Kingfishers who are fast but have a short flight
span. The Tui harasses the Kingfisher until it has
to land.
FUJI – S6500 at 66.7mm, 1/125, f/4, iso 200, Manual.
