I have spent many an hour with a paint brush or roller doing what this crew member of the barque ’ Picton Castle ’ is doing – hence the expression ’ Ship shape and Bristol fashion !’

    Great image Roy, I suspect he get’s backache though.
    I can just see you swinging over the side!!
    We were watching something similar when we went down to the Port, a chap oiling all the joints on the ‘One & All’ tall ship. Like you say work never stops.
