When you said you had a Mustang - I didn't know it was a horse...........! by

Spotted at Waitangi Day 6th Feb. 2013 – Waitangi, Bay of Islands, New Zealand.
I think this young Wahine ( woman ) had been asked out on a date and the young gent had turned up on a horse instead of a Ford Mustang as she assumed he would ! I wonder how their first date developed….?

Waitangi Day, apart from the political side is a great time to meet and mingle with all kinds of people – stalls selling varied goods and food as well as the more cultural displays.

Ha Ha Ha… Very funny title :P LOL
Great capture Roy ;-) – Jeremy

  • Thank you Jeremy – so pleased you enjoyed it ! This is still a scene you can see in the small country towns but this gent was a bit overdressed as the scene would usually show – bareback, no saddle, and gumboots ( Wellies ) and no shirt – so he was dressed up just to impress the young lady.

Ha ha love the title Roy ~ great capture!

  • Thank you kindly Susie – a while back a country gent lost his licence for drunk driving. A week later the Police picked him up again as drunk as a skunk, but this time on a horse. I’m not sure what the outcome was over this but it would have been a sight to see !

Super capture, great title dear Roy.x

  • Many thanks Catherine – so pleased you like it ! I can see him now, on his way to that first date with the girl, whispering in the horses ear…………. ’ You’d better be on your best behaviour !’

Hmm. Back to Ride, Sally, Ride…. Lots of body language going on here, but the horse seems to be above it all (bored). Fine shot of Everyday Life for some people (& horses, & Toyotas). It sounds like an intriguing event.

  • You got it in one Sheila ! Young fellas, a horse or a Toyota van ! Thank you for the compliment.

wonderful capture .. now me, if he turned up on his horse I would love it .. :)

  • Thank you so much for your kind words and favourite Angel. This is normal practice in our little corner of the world but in some places, if a fella turned up for a date with a horse it would be in the papers !

Great shot Roy ~love the caption :))))

  • Thank you so much Renee – I think he was a bit of a show-off ! It was a great day out, the political side of the day was kept to a minimum this year.
