metamorphosis I..

Stepstones

From a series where i look at death and different aspect of death and dying.

Inspired by
Tangerine Dream – Cyclone – Madrigal Meridian

and by Philip Glass – Metamorphosis (Uakti)

This is a composite. First image is almost untouched and created with long exposure with a flashlight. Second layer is worked in CS. Both blended and mixed in CS.

For the image on the main layer I try to keep the Photoshop-work to a minimum to not loose the ethereal energy the method some times captures.

This is my way to healing and selfrealization. If my work can give something to an other human being it´s many times worth the effort. Thanks for stopping by and look into my world for a minute.

Amazing! The curious thing for me is that although the main (upper) figure is represented with flowing, almost ethereal lights, it looks somehow heavy to carry on by the lower figure. Life and death. Truely impressive!

  • roy skogvold replied

sure gets heavy some time Dani :)
    thanks my friend

I spent some years working as a social worker in a hospice roy, so sat with and saw many many people through the last moments of their lives… and i saw there were those who – in a way ‘could NOT die’ – and they were the people who had ‘unfinished business’ with this life – but who also could not or would not face this ‘unfinished business’... usually such people died ‘hard’... with symptoms difficult to control… because of course the mind and body are one and ‘symptoms’ at the end of life do not come from the body alone… so of course cannot be healed or controlled with medicines for the body alone…
But then – there were also those who allowed themselves to pass ‘smoothly’ from this life to he next – no matter how painful and great the sense of loss and fear they were experiencing as well… and it was an enormously uplifting privilege to ‘sit with’ someone who was content and accepting enough of themselves and their life to be capable of this…
And this is what I see and feel in this image Roy – and I would like to experience the privilege of ‘sitting with’ someone with enough insight into themselves to allow their body to leave this life in peace again… so – I have to make this work of your a ‘fave’ for myself… thank you :)
