the new wave..

the new wave..

A series of pictures of water in different states.

I loved most of all to be close to water. A pond, a lake, a river or creek, or the ocean. In all different seasons. Still, flowing. running, in a drop, as ice or snow.

Sometimes I can get a glimse of the spirit and energy. Like some kind of intelligence that mine is to narrow to understand. But still it touches me and I become even more alive.

Soundgarden – My wave

Lyrics
Take, if you want a slice
If you want a piece
If it feels alright

Break, if you like the sound
If it gets you up
If it brings you down

Share, if it makes you sleep
If it sets you free
If it helps you breathe

Dont come over here
And piss on my gate
Save it just keep it
Off my wave

Cry, if you want to cry
If it helps you see
If it clears your eyes

Hate, if you want to hate
If it keeps you safe
If it makes you brave

Pray, if you want to pray
If you like to kneel
If you like to lay

Dont come over here
And piss on my gate
Save it just keep it
Off my wave

Keep it off my wave
Keep it off my wave
Keep it off my wave

My wave

Cry, if you want to cry
If it helps you see
If it clears your eyes

Hate, if you want to hate
If it keeps you safe
If it makes you brave

Take, if you want a slice
If you want a piece
If it feels alright

Dont come over here
And piss on my gate
Save it just keep it
Off my wave

roy – I’ve been admiring this image for some time now – and to my shock it was only a day or 2 ago I actually realised it was a macro!!!!
I have to admit I cannot work out at all exactly ‘how’ you got this shot. It is incredibly beautiful and has a sense of ‘soul’ – but I cannot understand it – though I like it incredibly much and it makes me feel good to look at it again and again! Congratulations on achieving something magical – that is way beyond my ability to comprehend ‘how’ you might have done this my friend :)))

    hi Kallena
    Thank you for your comment.
This picture is converted from a rawfile and just barley adjusted in rawfile converter.
Acctually not cropped if i remember right.
If it is an 1:1…. well maybe not precise, but in the range of 1:2 – 1:1. It was taken on a tripod maybe 5-10 cm above the water surface. The grass are some sort of tiny algae. Focus in center and waited for the “right” ripple to get the light-lines i wanted. Acctually very simple.
But it turned out quite alright don’t you think ?
Well I liked it for it´s simplicity and serene feeling. :)

    DragonFlyer

Thanks for that roy – I think it turned out VERY all right!!! And you’re right – now you’ve explained it – that was ‘quite simple’.... though waiting for and actually ‘catching’ that exactly right ripple at exactly that right moment with the focus so perfectly on the parts of the image that are central to it is not really such a ‘simple’ thing my friend – very much patience and technique and skill required for that I think… very very well done my friend. it definitely conveys a beautiful serenity :)))

  • roy skogvold replied

it pleases me that you like it Kallena. When you come visit me in Norway we will go and catch “light in ripples” together my friend :)
