When the GWR was destroyed by Beeching in the 60s one of these found its way into our house – sat on the wall at the bottom of our garden for years. No idea what happened to it in the end.
Fantastic shot! Great use of selective colouring! (hee hee, I read about that selective colouring thingy on some arty farty photographer’s post somewhere!) :-)
Thanks Von. I had a bit of a “girly strop” and instead of hiding my images, I manged to delete all 500 photos that I had stored on RB’s servers…............
Ahh well, I had nothing to do this weekend, anyways.
I think the thing I love most about your images is that every one that I see, it makes me want to be exactly there.........just looking at what you are looking at. I think that is a very good yardstick for measuring truly good artistic photograpy…........... it makes you want to be there…..............
Linda- that is such a lovely thing to say, such a fantastic compliment. I just try to capture things as I see them, try to be honest and tell a story, no matter how trivial. Friend, you have no idea just how good you have just made me feel, thanks.X
☼ B R A V O !!!!!!☼ HOME PAGE ☼ WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and no wonder what a gorgeous pic! and I remember these sorts of gates here in Aus. My little brother wanted to be a gateman! lol wish we still had them – it would employ blokes and stop deaths! a much better alternative to all the train vs car smashes we have now! No guesses who wins! Chookas my sweet man! X♥X
