Woman Weeping by RoyAllen Hunt

DSC F717: Digitally manipulated and enhanced with Photoshop from the Altered States Collection

She felt her heart rent
No physical pain compared
Something lifted up and out of her
as if to float in the air apart
the agony removed itself
a portion of her being knew this had to be
nothing left to reside with her
but the sound of her weeping
and her falling tears
She wandered in the streets
looking for that thing that had escaped
Maybe she thinks she needs to keep it close
to hold it clutched inside her breast
marking the day and the time
to never forget…

I can feel the tears in this one….it is so evocative and incredibly poignant…

  • Thank you so much. I think it bears a strong resemblance to your “Ancient Sadness” Nice work by the way.

I love to find meaning in the titles.
    And this title is perfect….
I would love to know why did you think about a woman…but I bet that the waving sense of the resulting work did it for you. And that you may relate this emotional wave much more to women than to men, and that this crying…..has made an strong impression upon you in some of your earlier experiences….It is so good to express these through the art.
    I love it, Roy

I am so drawn to this painting – there is so much emotion there. Wonderful interpretation!

  • Then we see the same thing here. Thank you so much for the echo.
