The Blue Jay and the Peacock Feathers by

Part of my Aesop’s Fables series done on rice paper with ink and watercolor.

This panel tells the tale of a blue jay wandering through a field. He finds some stray peacock feathers and decides to adorn himself with them. The jay then struts up to a group of peacocks to show off his feathers but they are not at all impressed. When he shows the other blue jays, they proceed to pluck the peacock feathers off his back, telling him “its not fine feathers that make a fine bird”
