Margaretville Lighthouse seen from the wharf April 24, 2011

HDR process. 6 images in Photomatix and some dodge and burn to add more tone mapping.

The Margaretville lighthouse was established in 1859. When the lighthouse was erected, it was one of the first along the Nova Scotia side of the Bay of Fundy. Before that time there were only about half a dozen lighthouses in operation on the Bay. The lighthouse is a 22 foot high tapered square wood tower painted white with black bands. The white light is shown 30 feet above the water.

I am living in Nova Scotia Canada and loving it! It is the most photogenic IMHO province in Canada (I know I will hear about this!)

I have lived most of my life wanting to be near the ocean… and now I am.

I will post as many images I think you will like to see if you would be visiting and wanted to bring the memories home. Let me do that for you.

Hi. Would you please do me a favor and add some additional information to your artist narration section concerning the HDR process. Things like, handheld or tripod, how many exposures (if you have the setting even better), and what software was used. Once added, please resubmit so that I can accept your work into HDR Photography (3 Photos per 24hr-day) MUST INCLUDE HDR DETAILS Thanks, and feel free to delete this comment if you wish.
