I used to work full-time as a freelance writer, producer director and consultant-I once thought about having ‘all-round media prostitute’ written on my business-card, but realised that it was too close to the truth. I don’t work full-time anymore: I’d like to say I’m retired but as a freelancer there’s a very fine grey line between working and being unemployed…..
I am also a musician, and during last year performed my own jazz/blues material all over Italy and played at four major festivals, including Trasimeno Blues, Etna blues, and came fifth fronting a band from Perugia in the final 12 to select a band to represent Italy in Memphis. You can hear my album on bandcamp – there’s free downloads or you can buy the album; you set the price…http://rowlandjones.bandcamp.com/
I host a fortnightly programme called ‘The Blues and Beyond’ on www.radioimago.net
I also have a masters degree in photography and taught at Liverpool, Chester and Stafford universities.
I have kept a journal full of writing, articles , photos sketches and clippings. It is featured in a regular column called RAM (reallyaccessiblememory) in a monthly arts paper in Holland called ‘Zuiderlucht’
I like to play music and write songs, take photographs, write, and spend time just doing things in Italy.
Rowland Jones is a member of Accentuate The Eyes, Architecture and cityscapes and Italy and all Things Italian .
