Lee loves art and words and beauty in the mundane and unexpected.
Gorgeous. And just enough of everything- drips, blue, suggestion. Neither abstract nor depictive. And deep mutted colours with a serene brightness. Its strength lies in its suggestion and composition and requires little else to create a bigger picture to the viewer. I love it for its dusty coolness and contemporary use of relative space. A triumph of artistic approach and creative realisation. Magic indeed.
:) such compliments! thank you, David.
… too close to the sun? Clever.
not subtle enough? :)
I want it
Superb image, exquisite details, the melt wax looks like perpetual tears…Nona
“perpetual tears” – I love that phrase! Thank you, Nona :)
By ‘coincidence’ I was telling my students the story of Icarus today. this is lovely.
thank you. ‘coincidence’ indeed.
Ah, the wing of a blue angel. Your painting draws me into the myth. Thank you for energizing myth, they are so important to us, but are too often forgotten. They are the stories that made us. Beautiful realization.
Thank you :) Myths are great… anytime the ordinary can be explained in a magical way, I’m all for it!
OK, so if I actually DO want it, like the original, then what do I need to do…?
SRP, I come to you Thursday nite then lady :-)
SRP, Moe :) see you then
