    Fabulous shot! Lov e the composition and colours. The light on the tree is beautiful. Interesting how you focused: you actually zoomed out after focusing? didn’t know you could do that!

    Just keep the focus button pressed…on the 50D i use the A/E button to lock and hold then recompose my shots…clarity from front to back then:))

    Whoa! Almost like 3D on my screen! Fantastic shot… I read recently about zooming in locking the exposure and then recomposing the shot… so this is the result?! I will have to give it a go! : )

    Similar…you can lock the focus either on the subject nearby and create stacks of DoF, or lock it mid way and shoot with say f8 or f11 and get greater clarity front to back, or you can zoom 3/4s of the way, lock the focus, recompose and adjust exposure…depends on what you’re trying to achieve…i wanted an image that was sharp up front and so i used this technique…:))
