Heart of Uluru

The rock is sacred to the local Anunga Aborigines
and they say this is the heart of Uluru
The beats of an ancestral heart…
The rock is sacred to the local Anunga Aborigines.

Ayers Rock is the popular English designation (named after Sir Henry Ayers, a 19th century Australian governor). However, the rock’s official appellation is Uluru, the one given by the Anunga Aborigines.

OMG! Rosina, when were you here? I was here several weeks ago and shot this “heart” too…... it totally enthralled me….so in keeping with the divine energy of this place. I felt such love in this little valley and water hole of the rock, believe it truly is a sacred women’s site…... for the energy was so healing and compassionate. What a beautiful image – well done!!!!

There is such wonder and mystery in the environment. Old rocks and Aboriginal energy exude such wisdom in my opinion. Have many Aboriginal sites near where I live and the feel around them truly can be felt.

Impressive rock. I would crop the sky out, keep only the rock, gives even more impact to the photo.
