10 golden rules.....

Just been browsing the lomography site (http://www.lomography.com) and found this….....the perfect rules to live by!

1.
Take your camera everywhere you go.
2.
Use it any time – day and night.
3.
Lomography is not an interference in your life, but part of it.
4.
Try the shot from the hip.
5.
Approach the objects of your Lomographic desire as close as possible.
6.
Don’t think. (William Firebrace)
7.
Be fast.
8.
You don’t have to know beforehand what you captured on film.
9.
Afterwards either.
10.
Don’t worry about any rules.

i have really been getting into lomography and other such things recently – i love relinquishing all control over my photographs and just seeing what happens. much more interesting that way, no pre planning, no post production, just really simple shots, which may or may not work out. i think thats the way id like to go about things for a while. who needs a 2grand camera when you can get a handful of cheap plastic ones for 50quid and get amazing, unique, random and unexpected results!

Yeah, I’m basically with you here.
Except I’ve spent in excess of two grand on film and developing in the last 2 years. But then my Holga only cost $25, that’s what I keep telling myself.

Rule 6 just needs to be adjusted to ‘Don’t think – about how much this is actually costing you, live in ignorant bliss and you’ll have more fun than everyone else.’
