This is so beautiful Rosie! And the rings are in the colors of a rainbow. Wow! So unique and wonderful. You are so lucky and so talented to catch it so beautifully. Congrats on your feature. So well deserved! Instant favorite!!
Rosie Appleton replied
Wow Ginny – thank you so much. Not too sure about being so talented but I was fascinated when I saw the halo and when I returned home and looked it up I was staggered to find out that they are more common than rainbows!!!! Thanks for your enthusiasm and your favouriting :-) I now look for them especially when there is light whispy cloud in the sky and a little bit of humidity!
Ginny York
I had no idea they were common. I have never seen one!
Rosie Appleton replied
LOL, you and me both!! The reason they are not seen as you have to look directly at the sun to see them…. not the best idea!!! Atmospheric Optics is the site I used when I was trying to find out what it was, it’s very informative about all things up in the sky… :-D
