What Men Want

What Men Want
Acrylic Painting on paper inspired by a couple I know – a Scottish/Irish gal and a German guy, two “beautiful people” in more ways than one. I got to know them at College and in no way does this image represent their real life relationship.

A satire in response to “What Women Want” starring Mel Gibson.

The presumption that a man can move inside a woman’s head and hear her thoughts is reversed. Lipstick and adoration, accessory and doormat…… dream, a rhapsody of the mind … removed from reality, entombed in narcissism.
As crude and mind numbing as John Gray’s book “Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus”, for those wishing to hang onto the carcass of the past- the barb wired memory of patronizing thinking where women are doomed to play second fiddle in life and in sex.
Can’t imagine why anyone would want that.

What Men Want belongs to the following groups:

All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical, Fine Arts, PixElations - The Art of Photoshop and Woman Appreciation

I have been a doormat most of my life, not by choice. Politics. But at least I try to be an artistically creative one. I see you are too, I mean very creative and artistic. Not a doormat, I hope better for you. I like your work. Smiles from Jane:-)

I am sure your will find the “goddess” Jane, most of us do learn the hard way. ...the artisitic and creative can be the salvation, artists are so lucky in that they can heal themselves and at the same time communicate with others who will feel better when they know they are not alone. This image was about a couple I knew, they worked through the cultural cliches’ and are still together. Cheers :)

I really like this. His arm almost looks like it could be hers. I like that, it makes them look like they form one whole person together.

thanks sara for your comment.. if either one looses their individual identity it is not really healthy, in this case it is the man wanting the woman as a plaything, a toy.
