Thank you so much Sharon , I adore them too !
Now THIS is something you don`t even see in the UK anymore!!The Gollywogs are such a nostalgic reminder of the days when you could get away with just about anything without being labelled as racist… I suppose that yeah, if you really analyze the content it might rub some people the wrong way, but it was all designed in fun and good intent at the time.
Love the way you integrated the lolly in the background… and love your love of teddys and dolls :-))xo
Billy ,when I saw the Golly’s at the Teddy & Doll Exhibition ,I could not believe my eyes , the last I had heard of them was that Enid Blyton’s books had been banned and so had Golly’s. I actuaally asked one of the doll makers about this and why they were still making them. She explained to me that Gollywogs were making a come back as were the books , to see them so bright and absolutely cuddly & gorgeous and such happy cute faces I am not surprised. Sometimes Political Correctness goes just way too far I think & puts sinister connotations on such innocence beauty ……….long live the Golly I say ……….they are adorable and children (and adults ) adore them . Thank you so much Billy x
Bright, vivid and wonderful!
Thank you so much Carol ,I just love Golly’s
