Partridges are birds in the pheasant family, Phasianidae. They are a non-migratory Old World group.
These are medium-sized birds, intermediate between the larger pheasants and the smaller quails. According to Greek legend, the first partridge appeared when Daedalus threw his nephew, Perdix, off a roof in a fit of jealous rage.

My dog pointed this guy out to me and a few more.

Kenora, Ontario, Canada.

He is a handsome fellow even if he is/or is not a spruce, wonderful capture Rose, tell Ben he is a wonderful boy for pointing this out. Great shot.

  • HA! I will tell Ben he loves walking in the bush! He has a rubber duck for about 6 years and has never put a hole in it and always puts it in his bed at the end of the day — it is so cute. Thank you Andrea!
