A contemplative moment ... by Rosalie Dale

Currently unavailable for purchase

A quiet moment with two of our models during an outing with Camera Club members from the Western Districts of NSW, at the most unusual building I have ever seen on a country property! Iandra Castle, or Mt Oriel Homestead, is situated near the village of Greenthorpe, not far from Young NSW. The homestead is a unique part of Australia’s heritage. This was the home of George Henry Greene, local landowner, grazier, and politician, after whom nearby Greenethorpe is named. Construction was made using concrete, and was finished in 1911.

We were privileged to have around a dozen models who were incredibly obliging … a wonderfully surreal, Jane Austinesque day !!

I suffer from viewfinder vision (find myself visualising a frame around everything I see) so my genre is “anything that moves and most things that don’t”!!

I don’t so much wish to document places and things, as to evoke feeling and emotion.

This leads to a diverse portfolio and constantly overloaded external hard drives…not to mention some burning of the midnight oil as I keep looking for that elusive perfect process for yet another ‘masterpiece’!!!
