A mist reminds me to treasure today … we can’t see the future, and yesterday is over. We simply have this moment.

I suffer from viewfinder vision (find myself visualising a frame around everything I see) so my genre is “anything that moves and most things that don’t”!!

I don’t so much wish to document places and things, as to evoke feeling and emotion.

This leads to a diverse portfolio and constantly overloaded external hard drives…not to mention some burning of the midnight oil as I keep looking for that elusive perfect process for yet another ‘masterpiece’!!!

Wise words to go with this lovely shot, would make a good inspirational thingy :-)

  • I think ‘thingy’ must be my favourite word – I use it often Mandy!! I am putting this type of thingy on a blog I’ve just started … sort of related to kicking back and doing my trip. It is so nice to have space and time for musings to happen!!! Thanks for the encouragement (not sure if I like a BW version better!)

The mist has usually evaporated by the time I get stuff set up and return for things I have forgotten lol! Beautiful image and wise words R xx

  • Hmmm I must confess I snap away with mists as quick as I can as it keeps changing!!! The forgetting must be catching – I went on this last trip without the SD card in my main camera! Forced me to use the Nikon and wide angle more .. not a bad thing. Thanks for the compliment xxx

Thought it may have been here. Great misty shot.

  • Yes it was the ‘wandering’ morning when we got those great rays I think at the forest. Got to love the mist! Thanks Gail

Yes, yes – the mist can hide what is ahead in the distance,
but it cannot make us blind to what is right next to us.
Blessed is he that is in command of the present.
Wonderful photography from my favorite photographer :)

  • Bless you!! This is what I put with a BW version of this image on my blog: A mist is a reminder that we can’t see the future. Treasure the moment. How futile it is to rush ahead looking for ‘happiness’ and fulfilment in the vain hope it is hiding in the fog … the way forward is revealed to those who wait for the sun to break through.
Thanks Roger as always for the support!
