The Hundred Acre Wood (apologies to Winnie the Pooh) by

So they went off together. But wherever they go, and whatever happens to them on the way, in that enchanted place on the top of the Forest a little boy and his Bear will always be playing.
How often have we whizzed past this area near Richmond (NSW) and thought ‘must stop one day’ … ‘one day’ came last Sunday with a mist as a bonus! Even wading through waist high wet grass, there was no real way to avoid the fenceline so I’ve cropped this to a pano … for me it concentrates the appeal of the scene even more.
OK it seems they are Paulonia trees, also known as “money trees” as they were the subject of a tax dodge scheme … !!! Thanks Bruce/Mandy/Sarah. PLEASE click on image and view larger. (60 favs as at 26 April 2012)

I suffer from viewfinder vision (find myself visualising a frame around everything I see) so my genre is “anything that moves and most things that don’t”!!

I don’t so much wish to document places and things, as to evoke feeling and emotion.

This leads to a diverse portfolio and constantly overloaded external hard drives…not to mention some burning of the midnight oil as I keep looking for that elusive perfect process for yet another ‘masterpiece’!!!

Ooh yes, I know that forest! You were lucky to get mist to go with it, one day I’ll stop there too! What are those trees anyway?

  • I was trying to remember the name of the trees … Sarah told me today (my daughter) – will have check with her again. I love those repeating lines – to have mist as well was so good we HAD to find somewhere to pull off! Thanks Mandy
