The main bedroom of the main cottage, still lived in today by a 5th generation member of the Ackerman family. Taken with permission.
Single jpeg x 3 @ +/- .5 in Photomatix, finished in CS5, edged, and a photo of rust blended to suitably age the image to give it a vintage effect.

I suffer from viewfinder vision (find myself visualising a frame around everything I see) so my genre is “anything that moves and most things that don’t”!!
I don’t so much wish to document places and things, as to evoke feeling and emotion.
This leads to a diverse portfolio and constantly overloaded external hard drives…not to mention some burning of the midnight oil as I keep looking for that elusive perfect process for yet another ‘masterpiece’!!!

Superbly edited Rosalie.
It only took 2 hours! There are so many possibilities in these shots one never knows which way to turn or when to stop. Thanks Gail for the encouragement.

Another great image, as I said before you “ARE THE BEST”
Flattery will get you everywhere Warren! Just think, if you hadn’t bullied me along, I’d still be languishing with a point n shoot. Thanks for the compliment.

Well taken Rosalie…I see the 5th generation is sleeping with lots of teddy bears!!
This lovely lady was older than I am and she sure did like teddies – the second bed had a lovely collection also. xx

Such a lovely step back in time Rosalie the vintage effect is done so well, looks like a page from a very old storybook x
It was a slightly crooked shot Di (no tripod!) in dull light so I am pleased it ended up as somewhat presentable! Glad you like it … thank you.

It’s lovely to see they have kept the theme throughout the house with the old furniture, how do they heat the house Rosalie, is it an open fire? Gorgeous image, love the lighting on the bed :o)xox
No heating in this sleeping section of the place Josie (the lady is older than I am so they’ve compromised and have electricity connected – she uses an electric blanket! Snows in winter – she’d need something). The other section has a wood stove in the kitchen and a fire. A lot of homes in this village are maintained with period furniture etc.
