Tribute photos - Axel

For those who are interested, Bill Fonseca very sensitively photographed aspects of Axel’s service today – feel free to view the lovely images and share in the release of the balloons. Just look at that blue sky – it has been so stormy recently. There is also a photo of Robert, Sam, Sarah, Steve and Boz following the release. Thank you guys for representing the RB community by your presence today.

Sara Lamond has also posted photos of Jeffrey Hamilton’s construction wall art which he painted near Gallery26 as a tribute – I wonder if we can pinch the panels when the construction is finished!!

Sad news ...

I just added a journal to my daughter’s Site, giving the following devestating news. Sarah Moore (bigbear) is heavily involed with RB, with Gallery26, and is co moderator of the Sydney Group.…

My message was …

Locals may have heard already on the news of the drowning of a 15mth old in the northwest of Sydney. This is Axel, Sarah and Glen’s little son (and my grandson).

As you can imagine everyone is devestated. One never expects it to happen in your own family …

Please feel free to leave messages here if you feel so moved – they are rather overwhelmed with calls and all the due processes right now but do appreciate the care that their friends are offering.

Feel free to bubblemail me directly (RosalieDale) if you have any questions or any direct messages – I’ll log in a couple of times a da

Getting to know you . . .!!!

In January there will be a long awaited and long planned Aussie get together of a number of photographers from overseas, from Sydney, and from ‘out bush’ … Warren Williams (hope that link worked!!) from South Africa will be here, GailD from rural NSW is coming, a few from another photography site, and quite a few Sydneysiders have expressed an interest ……

If you would like to join us, please send me a bubblemail.

At the moment we are planning on 19th January, probably meeting at a friendly nursery on the northern side of Sydney to begin with, where we can chat over coffee and take some rose photos…then move on to a suitable site for a picnic lunch and further photos. A lot naturally depends on the weather (!!) which means we will need to be a bit flexible!

For now I need expressions of int

Just noticed I’ve nudged over the 5000 clicks – thank you to all who have faithfully visited and commented on my images – also to those who’ve bought cards!!

Joining RB was a big step, but a worthwhile one – I’ve certainly been pushed out of my comfort zone and no doubt will continue to be ‘dis-comforted’ by all the fantastic art that I can only gaze at and hope to emulate one day. :)

Thank you also to those who are supporting the RUST group … we have a great cross section of images, some are fun, some are educational, and other are works of art!

So, here’s to the next 5000 …

OK all you rust fans, as of about an hour ago, the “Rusty, Crusty and Falling to Bits” (thank you Dave, aka photogenique, for the title!!!) Group went ‘live’. Kathleen will be assisting me while I find my way around as co-moderator.

Uploads limited to 2 per day please, best photos, and while some of us do qualify for this title perhaps personally, it is for inanimate objects rather than crusty old mothers-in-law etc!!

Admin have defaulted to using one of my pics as the icon/avatar, so in a few weeks we will take a poll and vote on one by popular choice.

Looking forward to seeing your derelict offerings!

I sold one!!

Thank you Douzy for being my very first RB customer!!!! Wooohoooo. My red Christmas ornament on black background has found a home as a card, and I’m doing a digi-happy-dance here in the land of Oz.

(Doesn’t take much to keep us happy, does it?!)

Thanks heaps.
