Dad's farewell ...
Last Tuesday we farewelled my dad (Vic Cross – patriach of an extended Redbubble family!). Many RBers have requested images and details of the service so I am uploading a few here. The formalities were conducted by our good mate Max. True to family style, laughter mingled with tears at both the official service as well as the ‘after party’ as we moved on and celebrated dad’s life at Sarah’s gallery, where only a few weeks earlier dad had exhibited one of his canvases. A dish of liquorice allsorts stood proudly among the memorabilia at the hall, to the bewilderment of some of those not ‘in the know’!!
Dad’s love of flowers, and of the bush, were reflected in the official floral arrangement … its base is a hollow branch from Sarah and Glen’s land. Sarah performed various acrobatic feats to dislodge this from the tree, which in turn attracted the attention of a bull in the same paddock. Her red cardigan and red gym boots didn’t help – I believe Glen also didn’t help by cracking up at her efforts to get up the slippery green slope and over the fence in double quick time, without losing grip on her ant-ridden prize! The Powerpoint presentation included snaps of dad as a young (and handsome!) bloke … as did the order of service …
Some memorabilia associated with dad’s life: flowers from the casket, his harmonica (till his lungs gave out, dad played with great enthusiasm!), the Australian flag and some of his medals, along with a red poppy, and a heartfelt tribute written by George which will be uploaded in full to his portfolio in the next few days.
We have all been immensely moved by the messages, phone calls, flowers, cards and tributes from our global family. Dad would be totally overwhelmed. Thank you.
Steve, Mae, Rosalie, Sarah, Glen, Katie, Meg, Zoe, Ty … and Axel who no doubt will be enjoying Pop’s company first-hand now!

Much appreciated Peter, thank you. The allsorts were dad’s avatar on RB, and one of his favourite sweets (well … anything with oodles of sugar was a fav with him!!). It is wonderful that he no longer needs to struggle with his major health issues – but we sure are missing the old bloke! xx

Now the licorice all sorts must be a Dad thing as my father loved them too. I was at the hospital for 2 weeks (lung problems) and since I’m back home, I have serious problems with RB, no images at all, only texts. But Gilberte informed me about your father, she sent me the link and I try now to place a message for you at the right place and I hope it will work.
