Locomotion
Happened to be passing Thirlmere Station in the Souchtern Highlands of NSW (Australia) around lunchtime on Sunday as the 2705 was pulling out with a full head of steam, and a load of sightseers.
The Rail Museum at Thirlmere houses about 50 engines in various stages of restoration, and regularly runs these wonderfully nostalgic steam train rides.

You should have heard the choofing Max – wonderful head of steam it had! There were heaps of photographers jostling for a spot, mostly men of course!

Your masterful and famous processing has done full justice to this grand engine. Wonderful light and colours, great sky, making the beautiful steam almost 3D.

Thanks for the fav Keld – I’m flattered! Yep at least another 50 all in various states of disrepair / repair AS WELL AS carriages and bits and pieces. The nearby museum is being remodelled at a cost of millions of dollars – it is so quaint now – I am not looking forward to the huge new showcase actually. It sounds as though it may take away from the wonderful rustic junkyard that a lot of the area seems to be right now!
