Heading Home No 2 . . . Gerroa
Gerroa is an idyllic village at the Kiama end of Seven Mile Beach on the south coast of New South Wales … their sunset on Tuesday (6 January 08) was aided by smoke haze from bushfires in the Morton National Forest. After a day in which temperatures reached 40 degrees celsius and beyond, there were plenty of relaxed holiday-makers still enjoying the ambience, the breeze and the spectacular skies.

Great image Rosalie ! Shame about the bush fire . l ‘m sad to say we’re in for alot more before the summers out.
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
G;day Albert – fires are a part of Aussie summers aren’t they, unfortunately. We had one in a national park in Sydney yesterday (deliberately lit it seems) ... it is going to be one hot summer I fear!!! Your comment is much appreciated.
Bill Fonseca
Great capture, great location, great collection. Love these recent images you’re producing Rosalie. Keep ‘em coming.

It was a pretty fruitful couple of days, image-wise Bill. Thanks for the kind words!!
GailD
Another beauty Rosalie. The sun through the smoke really makes this a richer shot.
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Without the smoke we’d be without extra interest and colour Gail – thanks for the encouragement
Memaa
Awesome! Such a great series of shots. I have to look up NSW on the map, LOL. My Australian geography is sorely lacking, LOL What a fantastically beautiful beach. I would love it.
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Sue come and visit – that would really consolidate the area in your mind!!! You’d love it. Thanks for the wonderful support and comments.

Just as soon as my money tree booms, I’m gonna hop the first boat and sail right down to Australia….........Yes, boat…....to far to fly, LOL. I’m gonna cruise on down and I don’t care how long it takes. LOLOLOL
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Bring a twig of that money tree with you – I’d love to get out there travelling again! If you lived in England you could just steal a loaf of bread and get a free trip downunder … although you may have to arrange to stay permanently!!!! :)

Dennis Gay
G’day Roslaie,
Great composition and a well thought out exposure.
I do feel though that you could probably lose 2/3 of the foreground as at the moment it is a very large portion of the image and really has nothing of interest.
Very clever side stepping to line the shot up, a clean, crisp silhouette, great highlights and gorgeous colours.

Dennis
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
I always appreciate your constructive comments Dennis thank you. I did struggle with the foreground but opted in the end for leaving it in to give some balance to the shot – I didn’t want it to be panoramic, nor did I want to lose the smoky sky. So – will fiddle and see what else looks to be an improvement!!!
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Whoops I missed the favouriting – thank you Dennis – I am so honoured!
