YellowJacket's flyover
Many will have read my journal entry, and in turn left comments, re the passing of fellow Bubbler YellowJacket (Paul) recently.
As a decorated Naval Officer, his memorial service included a “Man Lost” flyover … Paul’s wife sent a photo of one of the planes to share with us. What a moving sight this would have been! And what a wonderfully symbolic photo – severely handicapped in later life, Paul’s spirit will now soar – no more pain or disability – and our memory of him is of someone who chose to rise above the difficulties and encourage others to soar as well!!
YellowJacket's flyover belongs to the following groups:

Aye! If I could add my thoughts, I would add this by John Gillespie Magee (please fogive the long post)
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds,—and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of—Wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air…
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark or even eagle flew—
And, while with silent lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
