  • Rosalie Dale IPA replied

Those of us of a certain age probably do go more for vintage originals than contemporary imitations Max!!! :)

Beautiful image Rosalie (what is Persil)

  • Rosalie Dale IPA replied

Oh dear Teresa – either you are wonderfully young, or perhaps Persil wasn’t sold in the USA!!! It is a washing powder used back in the days when there was practiallly no choice – Persil, or Sunlight Soap (and a lot of elbow grease!) to clean your clothes.

  • Gilberte

    Gilberte

Yes I remember Persil since I was seven years old.
Persil had a stand at an exhibition with a free cinema turning a film with little dwarfs doing their wash with persil.
A short film always coming back but the kids loved it.

  • Rosalie Dale IPA replied

So pleased this brought back memories for you Gilberte … I don’t remember the film, but it sounds very much in “Snow White” territory with all those dwarves!

  • Marvin Collins

    Marvin Collins

I don’t remember Persil does that mean I’m younger than you all? Great treatment Rosalie, well done!!

  • Rosalie Dale IPA replied

  • Rosalie Dale IPA replied

I’m not sure about the creative bit – the display was outside a shop – but I did get quite enthusiastic about making as genuinely vintage as I could! Thanks for the favouriting – it is always lovely to know someone else likes what you have done. xx

  • PPPhotoArt

    PPPhotoArt

another wonderful capture with beautiful tones and yes i’m sorry to admit it but i do remember Persil!!!!! lol

  • Rosalie Dale IPA replied

Phew I was starting to think Australia and England were the only places it was used!!! Thanks for the compliment and kind words.

  • George Petrovsky

    George Petrovsky

    G’day Rosalie!
You’ve achieved the vintage look with great authenticity – up to your highest standards. Very genuine olde feele to it. Many years ago, Persil (?) held a contest to win a car, by collecting tokens inside boxes. I’m sure we had several years worth of washing powder at one stage – but no car! :)george

  • Rosalie Dale IPA replied

At least you could say the family was clean George, if car-less! Thank you for the encouragement – a series taken of the shopfronts of Berrima would probably go well.

  • Jason Connolly

    Jason Connolly

  • Jason Connolly

    Jason Connolly

You’re not suppose to sniff it Rosalie !! LOL ;-P

  • Rosalie Dale IPA replied

Sheesh Jason I couldn’t help it with the amount mum used to toss into the wash!!! Maybe that accounts for some of my brain malfunctions now … hmmmm … !!! :)

  • Jason Connolly

    Jason Connolly

LOL, Funny you are Rosalie!! hehehehe…
