What a beautiful striking flower and so masterly presented,have you used a macro lens here ?

Wonderful photo and an excellent story to go with it. I agree with what you said to Hans about lack of macro lens – they are sold for our camera but we have to have an adaptor as well and that’s when things start to get fiddly. Like you I have found I get the best results from about 15” away and the lens and sensor are so good we can crop all we like. Peter.

You certainly picked perfect conditions to produce this perfect photograph of a perfect subject.
The waterdrops are not overdone, the lighting and exposure is excellent, the bokeh is really good and the focus and sharpening superb.
In its current format it would make a great card but as a floral study I feel a square crop is the way to go here.
The colours are absolutely wonderful – I mean the blue is sooooo blue! 8-)
