Prancer
While my younger daughter Katie was off on a horseriding trek across the dunes at Birubi Beach, Mid North Coast of NSW, two trotters came down for their regular exercise sessions. They were an absolute delight to watch.
While the Beach area is aboriginal territory, it is managed by National Parks and Wildlife.

We could arrange a horse for you but it may cause other muscles to get sore – it is a huge beach and dune area!!!

Appreciated Elaine – this was a bonus – relaxing over a cup of coffee waiting for Katie to return when I realised two of these had entered the beach area so I made a dash for it. They are a joy to watch.

At this stage it was slowing down a bit to turn around – the beach is huge so once it got going, it disappeared before you knew it!

I agree with the first guy, our friend Warren Williams. My wife and I are quite active tennis players, always on hard courts, so whenever we get a chance to walk on sand we do. It’s a great feeling and my knees appreciate it.
It looks like ‘Prancer’ enjoys being taken onto the sandy beach as well, and I’m sure he’ll show his appreciation by placing well in his next race.
When I look at this photo I feel very much like Theresa (keleka656) and find my attention is really drawn to the water. The waves tapering down from ‘challenging’, a-ways-out, to little jumpers (kiddie size) close to shore, and of course the colours are very ‘true’. Wonderful shot Rosealie.

There’s nothing like the beach Warren – somehow the huge vista combined with the controlled slapping of waves tells me that all’s under control in the world after all!
