Safari
My younger daughter Katie on a horseriding trek across the dunes at Birubi Beach, Anna Bay, Mid North Coast of NSW.
The ‘pyramids’ are cement tank traps now being used to control traffic activity on the dunes.
While the Beach area is aboriginal territory, it is managed by National Parks and Wildlife.

Wonderful capture and imagery, gorgeous light and shade and colour. I would have believed her to be in Egypt if you hadn’t said.
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Those pyramids are a bit small for Egypt Hilary, but the sure make you do a double-take when you walk onto the dunes and see them there! Thanks for the kind words.
- Warren Anth...
Looks like you have been to Egypt, you dark horse. Interesting image.
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
You’d love the dunes Warren – no camels, no harem, but wonderful horse or 4WD treks to be had!!! It was an horrendously glarey day so shots were not as successful as I would have liked. Thanks lfor the visit!
Loreto Bautist...
Can easily pass as taken in Egypt…wonderful work.
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Thanks heaps my friend – wonderful place to take the family and feel as though you are in a different world!
Maximus
great image again. :)
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Thanks Max – I did struggle with the glare so I played it up and turned it into more of a desert look!
GailD
Yes, you could fool people with this one Rosalie. Looks like Egypt.
I like the colours & the silhouette effect.
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Thanks Gail – would have been a bit more convincing with camels and no helmets!!! You’d love both the photography AND the riding in this area!
Darren Sharp
Awesome Rosalie!!

Oh, Rosalie, this is just so beautiful and full of character and atmosphere !!! Just like a scene out of Lawrence of Arabia !!!
Rosalie Dale IPA
Well Phil the outfits may not suit, but the image certainly suggests LofA! Thanks for the compliment.
Jason Connolly
Could have been taken in the sahara or something, nice shot Rosalie…
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Sorta felt like the Sahara walking across the dunes – I gave up and walked on the firm sand on the beach after a while! Thanks mate.

When I saw the image, my immediate thought was “Lawrence of Arabia”! I think that’s what everyone’s seeing :-)
Rosalie Dale IPA replied

What a superb composition – and seriously deceptive – lol. Without the description, I was most definitely thinking Egypt. Isn’t that just fantastic?? Spectacular image, lovely treatment – just overall a grand shot!

Superb, `Rosalie of Arabia`.
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Ah John I used to be called ‘lurkalot’ (due to my candid shots) which sounds a bit “King Arthur-ish”. Now I move on to a desert scenario!!!
Rosalie Dale IPA
Thanks all for the visits and comments – appreciated.

Dunes we got. Pyramids, not. Egypt or Birubi Beach, doesnt matter. This is such a cool shot to me. Not something I would see on any of my journeys over here. I love the silhouettes.
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
It’s not too common over here either Theresa – just one of those fun scenarios that all came together at the time. Silhouettes are more thanks to the bright sun than anything else, but it works!
debsphotos
What a “mirage’ Rosalie!!! LOL..excellent image!! *-)
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Perhaps I should put in a palm tree and oasis Deb!!!
RLHall
Beautiful, it looks like Eygpt!
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
There are a heap of other ‘dune’ images that I took – maybe I should do some Arabian/Egyptian scenarios!!! Thanks Rhonda for the kind words.
brian pendrey
brilliant work
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
G’day Brian – thanks a lot.
Stuart Chapman
Lovely low angle really sets this well. Love the way that the subject matter is silhouetted out to a shape and the well beaten track on the sand takes away from the otherwise desolate view.
Nice framing with the tank traps (do you really have problems with tanks in the desert over there LOL?) on either side.
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Feral tanks lurk in strange places Stuart!!! Thank you for your eloquent comment – so much appreciated.
Tracey-Anne Pryke
great shot
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Thanks my friend!!!
PhotogeniquE IPA
really dramatic shot.
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
It sorta ended up dramatic Dave – thankfully there was a coffee shop behind me so I didn’t have to trudge through the dunes to find a drop of water to slake my raging thirst!!
Tracey-Anne Pryke
your welcome love all the new shots
LB Andrich
