Elegance
Of all the magnificent historic buildings I photographed at Sydney University today, this modest shot through the greenery jumped out at me as my ‘shot of the day’ – for me there’s something alluring about the partial view through the foilage – perhaps less is more!

Your composition and treatment make this building look like one of the grandest establishments in all of Sydney. I’d sure hate having to clean all those windows.
Maybe you could post this into the “Windows and Doors” Gallery and see what those experts have to say. Great job Rosalie!

A lovely capture, nice details!
Rosalie Dale IPA in reply to JasonTowers’s comment, 4 months ago
Hey Jason – this was a combination of some light-handed HDR (from a single image in photomatix), a very careful edging (can’t remember exactly but think I used threshold pulled back a fair way and blended) and because there already was some light on the greener leaves to the upper right, a very light coloured omni rendered just off centre to extend the light a tiny bit. Pleased you like it. The end result is trial and error and up to you and your eye!!! I have only just started to venture into HDR so my attempts are on the careful side! I appreciate your kind words – thank you so much!

Gosh – thank you all for your wonderful encouraging comments – very much appreciated. I suspect the little bit of HDR did help with this one – I’ve been avoiding using it but gave in on a couple of recent pics. Sigh … maybe us oldies do need to move with the times!

Thanks for revealing your processing, Rosalie. It must be the edge effect I picked up on — the lighting is beautiful, but for me the appearance of tiny brush strokes is what makes the image pleasing.
