Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Gosh Phil you are a ‘hawkeye’ – I had to go look at the oars to see what you were talking about – you have such an eye for detail. Thanks for the enthusiastic response – I am very much encouraged.

Picnicing down the point were we… what other secret admirer/s do you have. As usual your talent is displayed beautifully. :)
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Not quite a picnic Max, but the muddy shoes were worth the shots! I’m grateful for the positive comment mate. We’ll have to line up a date … !!!
Warren Williams
Hi,
Stroms approuching are most time GR8 captures and this is one, I first said “ha “she got the horizon wrong , the when I look at the palm trees they are dead upright, how did she get that right.
So please tell me.
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
I had trouble getting this pic aligned Warren as the boat is at an angle, the trees are straight and it leaves the assumed horizon line seeming to be wrong – I just went for ensuring the trees and rock wall were straight in the end! Will have to revisit and relook at the scene in person I suspect! Next time you are over … ! Thanks for the input.
Maximus
New camera ordered, so will be wanting some excuses to show it off. :)
mlgkats
you are so welcome

Rosalie Dale IPA replied
I value your comment John – thank you.
GailD
Great comp. Simple, but effective. Love the colouring (processing). You’ll have to start puting some tutorials up youself in the forums.
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
It is so hard to put things down in tutorial form because it is different for every image almost!!! This (as mentioned to Dave above) was a mix of HDR from a single image, and fiddling curves in Lab Colour Mode. A bit of an experiment! Thanks Gail. There are a heap of other boat pics from yesterday so I’ll see if I can do it again!
Stuart Chapman
Lovely control over the light and that is a magnificent cloud over and above the hill. Like the strong colours of the boat against the muted tones of the sea and sky.
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
That boat was an idea subject Stuart – and the storm was a bonus (an unexpected loud clap of thunder almost ruined the shot!!) ... thanks for the considered comment.
johno4280
Ah ha storm casers unite :)
Great shot Rosalie love the details/contrast in the clouds, will have to have a play in Lab colour now :)
Great shot
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
There seem to be plenty of storms around this year John! Thanks for the encouragement – have fun in Lab Colour Mode – no matter what you seem to do in that mode, it seems to make a great difference.

George Petrovsky
G’day Rosalie! When does a boat not become a boat? When you have seen it, captured, processed and presented it. Then it becomes a true work of art! Simply out of the ordinary.
:) george
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
:) Kind of you to say so George – great to ‘see’ it through other eyes!
georgieboy98

I have a feeling we might be using similar cameras. I use and swear by a Sony DSC R1 with a 4x neutral density filter – how about you? Peter
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
I have the ND filters but have only used them once (not on this one!) – and YES I do have the Sony R1 and it sure is a treasure! I wouldn’t cope with anything else I don’t think!!!!

richiedean
Well …... I dont know how … but this one slipped through the net !!
I plum for No 1 Rosalie, purely because IMHO … the boat is very easy on the eye, laying there in a perfect position, complimented by the palms and the silhouetted hills beyond, topped off with that salubrious golden sky ….... just perfect :))
Rosalie Dale IPA replied
Keeping up with the watchlist on RB is a full time job Richie – many seem to slip through unnoticed I find!!! Thanks for the great encouragement!
