Good morning to every one (SHOULD WE BE TURNED INTO LIGHTING BUGS?)

Good morning to everyone…It seems that we have decided to burn the cities out in here…and to burn everything at hand…home, streest, roads, shops, heating system que is suffocating the brains..We live a sort of “madnesss” in order to “shine and enjoy the comfort”. And it seems that they say that this is one of the reasons of the increasing in the already problematic temperature of the planet´s atmosphere.

No one wishes any longer to feel coldness and darkness.
Walking along the streets looking for “lighting bugs” in order to find the way and where they start to wind. Coming into our homes and to think it twice before sitting to read the newspaper, all dressed with a t-shirt and boxers in the raw winter. To invite our friends to dinner driving their steps to the toilet along a dark lobby like the wolf´s mouth. To sit to pray the rosary before dinner, for if you switch off or take out from us those wonderful screens of the virtual world" what is else to have fan? To cook with just a dismayed and grassy lighting bulb hanging from the also grassy kitchen cieling..where in summer, the flies are flying around all free and seemingly re-editing some world wars air-raids. To take a bath just once a week (you lucky one!!) and by a rigurous turns. and the rest of the days using another ways, less global but much more economical. To place the food in some shadowy window, in order of not to let them rot in summer (so rapidly), and to let them refresh with a kind of “asiatic luxury” in winter. To go to the movies with frequency to feel what it is a “central heating” or “air-conditioning summer”. To crounch into a sort of cocoon during the Mass, in order that the prayers rather thatn going upt to Heaven, will be running the warm corridores of your soul, to just come out a little bit and then to get back to it, for your cannot waste so lightly the Life´s. fuel.

And now….they tell us that we are not being conscious and that so much expenses are bothering “God´s napping”. And that once that God will be awakened from it, is going to switch off the light for us, for ever, sending to the Earth any kind of torments and using Nature for his retaliating purposes. And that we should watch the kilowats and everything around it, because we are not going smoothily on foresighting.
I do not like to feel blamed…but sometimes when I get informed, or the informing ones or the information is flying around like those bloody flies of those summer of my childhood, I really feel like switching even more lights, because I feel cold….very cold..
Either we are some morons, or simply unconscious, but do we wish to get back to that physical world of darkness or do we wait some day, with our imagination, to be turned into lighting bugs in order to stop heating in such a way our environ?

So much said here! I find it disconcerting how the world is changing., how we are moving away from all the things that left great memories. It is our RESPONSIBILITY to change things back. Don’t you think?

  • Thank you so much..I do take care and save resources up to where it is possivle for me. I do be responsivle. We even do not have neither drive any car at all. And yes…it is up to us and our sons and grandchildren to follow the good advice of the elders that are really conscious of these particular problems that are starting to be like planetary. I wanted to take it good humour, nevertheless and stress upon the fact that we are learning and we must have faith in our mental and soul resources for living in a better way and in a better world. thanks a lot.

Yes, I do have hope we can restore and save our planet and overcome those who are selfish and greedy, for at this point, it is appears to be all that is holding us back (do they not have children and grandchildren too?). But, I see we are moving forward too, and I do have faith in humanity, that we are trying so hard to be kind now, to our land and our environment, and to try to mend when we have ‘broken’ . Rosa, such thought provoking and important writing, but really always, even in your poetry.
Love to read you. Good morning : )) xoxoxoxoxxoxooxoxoxooxox

Good morning dear Rosa you brought up a very good subject I do believe that global warming is a very real and serious problem and no I do not want o go back to the dark ages I love having my central-air running all summer because where I live in Los Angeles it gets very hot. However having said we all have to start doing better we have become selfish and taken on that careless attitude saying it is just a scare tactic the planet is fine. I do not think this to be true we see it in the drastic weather changes plus more floods and bigger wildfires.I see women around here driving these huge SUV cars just to go shopping or pick up a child from school they use up a tremendous taking amount of gasoline. I could go on and on about the waste of good resources I think the scientists no what we need to do to save our environment and still will be able to enjoy our comfort but like always we are left at the mercy of our leaders and the people that make still big money by polluting the planet…..

  • Dear Shar. Some say that Faith is a virtue based in tehe imagination. And that is not feeding the practical world. I prefer another word which is less solemn in it s definition, and driven away from the biased by religion one. Confidence. We have faith, and trust and confidence. The one I prefer is confidence. It is quite homely. When one start to makes friends, is confidence the nourishing of the new affection. When one starting a new enterprise, is confidence which moving along the pathway. At least is the virtuality we feel in Spanish language. But of course, there is trust and faith…with its charge of comittment on thie other side of ethe relationship and that is so hard to overcome when that trus has been betrayed or when lne looses the faith on something. I do have trust too in our capabilities and hope to we will be able to give a harmonious and beautiful world to ur grandchildren. Meeting huge challenges and problems that are forming part lf our own human traits. Thank you so much for sharing, Shar….hugs for you.

Hi Rosa; I don’t believe in man made global warming—the real science isn’t there. But I do think we have become self centered and wasteful as individuals and societies; no good will come from it.

  • Hi Joe…
Well what you are telling me is so interesting. I do nor much care about that global warming,, though i feel worried in the back of my mind. I would be much happy to hear your opinion about it. Specially that issue about “the real science s not there”. What do you mean with that? . Thank you very much for sharing, Joe.

ahhh…very scary reality….i worry for all the children…what kind of world will they have when we are gone… :(

  • Thank you so much, Helene….hope that we will leave them a world in which the violence, as a cultural background will be turned into a thing of the past. Many scientist affirm that there is much less violence now than time ago, though the perspective of a global war now is scary and terrible. Let’s hope.:..and confide in our human resources,Hugs for you.

Hi Rosa; personally, I believe climate change is cyclical (natural to earth), and presently not man caused, and not near drastic enough to worry about. People are getting rich from hollering wolf. Al Gore, one of the main advocates, is becoming so large (and I don’t mean this sarcastically, for I worry about his health) he appears to now be trying to enhance global warming by increasing his own girth. Here is a link that gives some sobering data, at least the other side of the story. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/05/02/a_tale_...

The Arctic ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consul Ifft, at Bergen, Norway. Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers, he declared, all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met with as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared. Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts, which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.

A RealClimate blogger? No, that was the US Weather Bureau in 1922.

We saw a global cooling scare in 1924, a global warming scare in 1933, another global cooling in the early 1970s, and another warming scare today. The changes the USHCN promised Watts won’t help resolve anything for another decade or so, but perhaps future generations will be able to reduce the alarming increase in the number of climate alarms.®

  • Hi dea Joe….must thank you so much. Your late information has made me smile for it contains a mild sarcasm about all this late fussing. I can tell for my own personal records, about how the weather does go up and down. I d not not know then, what is the reason that right now there such an intense and must say stressing of informing about something that it seems has happened before….i calls for a reasoning and when you reason how things are they become more objective. Do you think is there any biased interest or spurious interest in frigthening the public with all this? Could be satisfying that neurotic and cultural, long time bred, necessity of our brain for feeding up the catastrofilia, based in an intense fear of what we cannot control..(seemingly almost everything….)? Or should we be labelled as simply irresponsible or frivolous due to our reaction (more relaxed right now) once the information ha become more complete and not so biased?……thank you..you are so valuable…
