Vera, a young elephant share the place with some villagers at Elephant Training Center in Minas, Riau, Indonesia.
The problem of habitat between elephants and humans become an endless conflict and until now have not found the right solution. Conversion of natural forest which is home for this trunked animal was allegedly become one of the main causes of the emergence of the problem. The rate of forest degradation in Riau which reached 160 thousand hectares per year for palm oil plantation area and the settlements. Spatial planning involves residence is required to solve this problem. ©ahmad zamRoni

    It’s sad that animals have fewer places to live due to forest degradation. This image you captured just shows how serious the problem has become. That elephant can come and live at my house. :o) You did a great job with this, Roni!

    Thanks for sharing this sight. You may not know a baby elephant was thought to have been still born in a Sydney Zoo but was found alive the next morning and has captured the heart of the city :)
