This was done by available light , the overhead globe only , slow shutter speed and wide open and about 3200 ISO from memory, the apple kept her still for me

    Outstanding capture Ron.

  • Thanks Julie they are so endearing it is hard not to be out there every night (except I am a wee bit lazy when it gets too cold ) :-)

The Tasmanian possum is a much prettier animal than the North American possum! What we call a possum up here is about as ugly as a critter can get! Ours have the same basic posture, but much thinner hair and longer, more threatening faces. Also, they can be found smashed all over the highways, one every 500 meters (making them the metaphor for slow and stupid). But your little miss here is much cuter.

  • I could be rude and say most Australian things are prettier LOL BUT I do like your chipmunks and squirrels .As for the roadkill ,folks who visit Tasmania often are almost in shock , I know we were when we first arrived , by the amount of road kill, the optimists say it is a good sign of the flourishing wild life , the realist says the idiot selfish drivers do not slow down enough at night and show any thought about the survival of the wildlife. Pity the possums and wallabies do not have the bulk of an elephant then they might slow down
