On each occasion I have had a time to visit this wonderful and one of my most photographed subjects, it was late in the afternoon. This recent Saturday, I made a point to leave earlier, albiet, not quite as early as I had hoped. Any of you who are familiar with telling time by sundial might be able to pinpoint the exact hour when I did finally arrive by looking at the position of the steeple shadow on the church roof. Anyway, for once, I was able to photograph the church from this viewpoint without having the sun either shining into my lens while doing so or having it directly behind and thereby backlighting the church.
