Beautiful! I love Arkansas… lived there many years ago. I am guessing this was taken in the northwest part of the state?

  • Actually Delany, this was taken pretty far south. We turned off the Interestate in Hope to catch 7 and this was found soon after we turned to go toward Hot Springs.

I’m live in Arkansas and it is beautiful along Hwy 7….I used to visit Hot Springs Nat’l park every summer….loved it the further you go the more beautiful it gets…wonderful piece of work here Love the treatment.

  • Thanks. We had a blast! Saw Petit Jean, Devil’s Den, and Queen Wilhelmina State Parks as well as Hot Springs. The only thing that hampered the trip was the low clouds and rain we encountered in Petit Jean.

    Yet another wonderful shot!

  • Jake, this was my first “best” HDR composition. ;) I still count it among the best.

great shot, I traveled north on 7 from Russellville and its beautiful up that way too

  • Thank you, Ted. We got as far as Russellville, as I had to go see a town with my family name, but had to head back toward home by that time. I have been to Branson a couple of times, though, and have traveled the backroads through NW Arkansas a few times. It is gorgeous in the Ozarks.

  • Ted, we travelled 7 from the Missouri border to I-30 on our way home over Columbus Day weekend. It was a very pleasant drive until it got dark about the time we made Russellville.

I live very close to this area, about 40 minutes or so from Hope, and you captured the beauty that I sometimes take for granted. Nice work!

  • Thanks, Dan. It is strange how we miss that which is right around us but see things in other places that the locals never notice.

It is a very beautiful image Terence, I love the dramatic skies and wonderful DOF. It is a beautiful wilderness.

  • Thank you, Sharon. I am always amazed at the difference in the ways I see things now than I did before I got seriously into photography. I seldom pass a water crossing without slowing somewhat to see whether it is photoworthy!
