HDR enhanced photo taken at Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose, Texas. Dinosaur Valley State Park showcases the first dinosaur footprints ever found. Discovered in the 1930’s by a rural postman reported his find to the local high school science teacher. Suddenly, world wide attention was focused on the find and the New York Museum of Natural History actually cut a block containing some of the tracks from the bed of the Paluxy River and are supposedly still housed at that institution. Remaining tracks are still visible in the riverbed and surrounding rocks. These dinosaur replicas were produced for Sinclair Oil for a World’s Fair and following the closure the fair, donated them to Dinosaur Valley State Park.

Great shot, I don’t think those fences will be strong enough though LOL, xx
You caught me, Ann. I was unsure if anyone caught the humor intended in the title. ;)

awesome!
Thank you, 3XEternity. Nice moniker, BTW. I am very very proud of this image. I not only finally took a place in the WS Creative Challenges with this one, but it is one of the few photos I took of the sights right here in my hometown.

awesome …. looks like some jurassic park stuff
The kids love these re-creations. If you look right under the tail of the T-Rex, you can see a bit of the little boy who was ogling it from close up. They actually have some dinosaur tracks which can be seen in this park.

tell me where this is so I can avoid the place. :-D Awesome!
Barb, these replicas are within the confines of Dinosaur Valley State Park, here in Glen Rose, Texas. The riverbed in the park has the first dinosaur tracks ever discovered. They were accidentally discovered in the 30s. A block of them was cut from the riverbed and are now house in New York’s Museum of Natural History. These replicas were manufactured, I have been told, for the Sinclair Oil Company (I believe) for the New York World’s Fair (again, my facts may not be completely straight) some years ago, and they donated them to the park,

they are pretty cool! :-) thanks for the info!
Amazing, dinosaurs look very real.
That may be one of the things that drew the eye of the judges in the WS challenge.
