Rocky Mountain goats at a salt lick

Artist's Description

The Rocky Mountain goat (Oreamnos americanus) resides at high elevations of 13,000 feet or more. Sure-footed climbers, they often rest on rocky cliffs that predators can’t access. They are rarely seen at road level but we were lucky to be there at just the right time to photograph this mother and kid getting their minerals at a natural ‘salt lick’ on the Icefields Parkway , Jasper National Park, Canadian Rockies.
