The Rhythm of Time

Time seems to creep so slowly
when one waits for a completion.

Time seems to speed too quickly by
when with the one you love.

The systematic clicks…
the seconds into minutes…
the rhythm of time
pushing moments with a shove

Time can be a source of strength
when resolve is the key to victory.

Time can become the dreaded villain
when kept idle for too long.

The on moving moments…
the hours into days…
the rhythm of time
painting each new horizon

Time is the wisest of teachers
when lessons learned add to wisdom.

Time is the stealer of visions
when laziness is the tool preferred.

The changing of seasons…
the months into years…
the rhythm of time
giving the span of life its due

Time becomes a line with an end
when life was given to be who we are

Time becomes a never ending state
when we journey past our final breath

The rhyme scheme of being…
from one life to the next…
the rhythm of time
as it was designed from the beginning

Just a guy who loves to write; poetry, lyrics, short stories and random thoughts… it is my passion. Photography is my second passion as I love to capture the world around me… to make time stop and to savor a subject forever.

Time is always on my mind. I feel it going by too quickly when there is stuff I want to do. When I’m somewhere I’m eager to leave, or have something I’m looking forward to being over, however it becomes a different story. Like with everything, too much or too little is not a good thing, and it can be good or bad for us depending on our circumstance…

  • Thanks Mui-Ling. You are right, make the best of each second, cherish it, put goodness in it, and the rest… we put up with. Again, thanks for the reading

Very thought provoking. I think everyone who reads this will find something applicable to their lives.

  • Hi my friend – What we do with the amount we are given certainly will define us will it not? These days my most precious time are Sat mornings savoring a couple of mugs of coffee knowing I don’t have to rush out the door… love that time :)))

Do not get me started on time…I can talk forever about it. What a beautiful write and so, so true! All your lines are beautifully written and say so much of what I feel. Then I start thinking about the things I am not educated in like the science of time, you know? It can boggle ones mind and make you wonder deeply. It is a most intriguing subject to get into, and often I throw my hands up in the air when I try to understand it all. Your write here, is the time I know of, and yes to all your wrote. And the older you get, the faster it goes…why on earth is that???? Sorry to make you a bit nutty with my comment! Just ignore me dear friend I often go off on the craziest tangents! Hugs! xoxoxoxxoxoxoxoxoxo

  • Oh Shar, your tangents always make me smile, your words are always a wonderful thing. Yes, the science of it all is quite mind boggling yet so fascinating. What gets me is why it takes forever for a red light to turn green when in a hurry and catch all green lights when you have time to spare…. hmmm!!!!! Oh well !!! Bless you my friend :)

    Sandra :)

  • Hi Sandra – thanks so much for reading and commenting. It is safe to say that we all look back in our lives (and in history) and learn from it. To use that knowledge is the key. Thanks again for the great comment Sandra :)
