she came to a place where shadows cry
silenced tongue sings no relief, no sigh
draws only sorrow nigh
steps unseen on a fogged covered ground
a broken heart beat, the only sound
solace sought but not found
playing where the shadows hide
staying where the shadows chide
a cutting blade lashes at her soul
it bleeds her heart, taking on control
her inner light it stole
a searing scream begging for release
the red drops fall, the pain will not cease
sting of wounds brings no peace
falling where the shadows dwell
calling where the shadows yell
now a calmness seed drops in her head
a ray of strength leading heart, it said
come follow me instead
some scars are left where anger was placed
in her mind’s eye, some sanity disgraced
bitter lessons now faced
burning from the shadows rip
turning from the shadows grip
in some, inner pain brings reactions.
some reactions I see,
makes me fall on my knees
and cry
I want to love and hold
forever if needed
to bring a lasting sigh

Just a guy who loves to write; poetry, lyrics, short stories and random thoughts… it is my passion. Photography is my second passion as I love to capture the world around me… to make time stop and to savor a subject forever.

The master does it again. Raw and real.
Rog, I’m in the process of trying to write something that reflects my current pain – this does it.
I hope you don’t mind but I’m also add these lyrics….a dear friend many years ago, sang this to me….and tonight on my way home, his voice and Cat Stevens lyrics flooded back to me. Now I read this poem………..awwwwwwwwwwwww brilliant work….
She hangs her head and cries on my shirt.
She must be hurt very badly.
Tell me what’s making you sadly?
Open your door, don’t hide in the dark.
You’re lost in the dark, you can trust me.
‘Cause you know that’s how it must be.
Lisa Lisa, sad Lisa Lisa.
Her eyes like windows, tricklin’ rain
Upon her pain getting deeper.
Though my love wants to relieve her.
She walks alone from wall to wall.
Lost in a hall, she can’t hear me.
Though I know she likes to be near me.
Lisa Lisa, sad Lisa Lisa.
She sits in a corner by the door.
There must be more I can tell her.
If she really wants me to help her.
I’ll do what I can to show her the way.
And maybe one day I will free her.
Though I know no one can see her.
Lisa Lisa, sad Lisa Lisa.
Cat Stevens – Sad Lisa

beautiful rogbud xxx
I think I know who this one is about……its beautiful and dark, just like me!
My dear friend Roger…to write in such a beautiful way you have to be one who cares to look long enough to see, care long enough to feel…feel long enough to touch a soul with your heart filled sentiments..a beautiful rarity!
your words are beautifully descriptive…..if my writers block were lifted this how I would have described how I’ve been feeling – thank you Roger….you seem to understand and know – even from a distance
WoW WoW WoW!!!!! Your best to date I think …..HUGS!!!!xoxoxoxoxo
You have truly outdone yourself!! This is one of the most powerful things you’ve written, even the description is beautiful xx
