We have been enjoying some beautiful Spring weather recently and I decided a day trip to Cornwall was overdue, so Monday saw me making the trip over the River Tamar to Looe and Polperro.
This is one of the photos I took at Polperro harbour, a completely timeless scene and just the kind that keeps drawing me back there, I felt it deserved sepia presentation, simply because it has changed little since the days when all photographs were in sepia.
The building at the top of the slipway is the Heritage Museum of Smuggling and Fishing and well worth a visit, it speaks volumes for Cornwall’s past. I just love the close proximity of the many ancient fisherman’s cottages around the harbour.
Nikon D300
18 – 70 Zoom @ 60mm
F18 for 1/80sec
Converted to Monochrome in Photoshop then hand tinted Sepia to get that classic rich warm vintage appearance.

Wonderful Rod. The sepia takes you back in time as you said and indeed has that special atmosphere. glad you could go out again and enjoy the nice spring weather. Keep strong mate.
Thank-you very much indeed John, I did have to use the local electric taxi service up and down the hill to the harbour but it was wonderful to be there in the sunshine,

Awesome work Rod.
We will be there in July for a group meet, if you can make it.
Thank-you very much Richard, that sounds like a wonderful day, I so hope I am well enough to tag along, I did stop at the Tamar Bridge for a few shots on the way down, incidentally the horse buses are finished at Polperro but the electric taxis are still there and operating from the former horse rank in the car park, price has gone up to £1 . 80 return now,
Regards, Rod.
