With most of the UK being battered with snow and ice, we have been fortunate to have missed the snow so far even if it has been very cold. We have had some very good light for photography during the current cold spell and on one of those days I went to the nearby ancient thatched village of Cockington, Devon.
The village Inn, known as the Drum Inn, looked splendid in that beautiful Winter sunlight, set against the tall evergreens with it’s gardens designed by the famous landscape gardener Lutyens, certainly don’t get the impression of how cold it really was at the time.
It seemed rude not to go in and sample a bar meal and glass of real ale in front of the roaring log fire, sorry if I’m making you envious.
