I enjoyed a couple of visits to the nearby ancient thatched village of Cockington, Torquay this week, I got to thinking how peaceful and still very beautiful the old village is at this time of year without the many tourists who visit it in Summer.
This was one of many photographs I took there this week, standing outside the village Inn know as the Drum Inn, looking over the formal gardens designed by Lutyens towards Rose Cottage with a line of smoke coming from one of it’s chimneys, set against a beautiful backdrop of Autumnal foliage on the trees.
It must be lovely to be in that cottage at this time of year with a log fire in the hearth and all the Autumn colours adding to the beauty of the village.
