We had a most enjoyable day trip over the county border to my beloved Cornwall this week. Most of the time was spent at Polperro but we stopped at Looe on the way down, both towns are on Cornwall’s South coast.

The Town of Looe is as much a holiday resort these days although still a thriving fishing port with quite a number of boats working from it’s estuarine harbour.

An arched stone bridge joins East Looe to West Looe that we see in this image and of course, the vantage point was from the bridge, this image was taken fairly early in the morning.

    cheers, Rosie

  • Hi Rosie, thanks so much my friend, yes the little town is probably better known as a holiday resort over recent years but still a busy fishing port as well, I love to visit before the holiday Season is at it’s peak, gets just a bit too busy then,
    Kind Regards,

What a gorgeous harbor!!! reminds me a bit of one I grew up near! The houses, the water coming to the edge, the lovely boats moored… it’s all fantastic!

Colours simply pop of the screen and I was wondering where you where to take the shot but having read your text I now know. I never realised the village looked so pretty and you have certainly done it justice

  • Haven’t quite mastered walking on water yet Andy, lol.,something about the light in Cornwall at this time of year, the colours and details are always that bit better than this side of the great divide, many thanks,
    Regards, Rod.
